Scrapbook Paper Covered Letters DIY {home decor}

My niece just graduated from High School so I thought I would make her something cute she could decorate her room with.  I thought using her initials would make it more personable and {hopefully} something more special to her.

Supplies Needed:
Paper mache letters
Scrapbook pages
Paint
Glue
Exacto knife

I purchased my letters at JoAnn's using my 40% off coupon you can find on their website!

  • Start out by turning your scrapbook paper face side down and placing the letter on top of it. Out line the letter onto the back of the scrapbook paper.
  • Cut out the letter and use an exacto knife for the hard to get areas like the inside of the "P".
  • Paint the edges of the letters.  No need to paint the front of the letters since you will be covering it with paper.
  • Apply glue to the front of the letter then place the scrapbook paper onto the letter.  Smooth out any wrinkles and let dry.
Super easy!

Saturday SHOW-licious Craft Showcase #35

<a href="http://sew-licious.blogspot.com" ><img src="http://sewliciousdecor.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/saturday-showlicious-craft-showcase150.jpg" ></a>

Hello Everyone!!

Thank you for participating in this weeks blog party! I'm so happy you are here!

I was out early this morning hunting garage sales.  I went to an estate sale yesterday and found towels, place mats, and fabric.  I made this backdrop with the fabric.  I glued it onto a piece of poster board.   Here's a few  bargains I found today.

I couldn't resist this whitewashed church birdhouse for $5.  I found the brown/blue hand painted pitcher for $1, the rolls of ribbon were $1 each and they are full bolts!  I came across these massaging house slippers that I thought would be fun to wear...I couldn't pass them up for only $1.  If you have any garage sale or thrift store bargains you would like to share, add them to my Bargain Link Party here.

I am currently looking for blogger to do GUEST POSTS.  If you don't know what that is, you write up a tutorial or DIY post along with your own introduction and I post it here on my site.  All you need to do is sign up!  If you are selected  you will write a post related to a craft tutorial or a recipe.  You will also be our ~Blogger of the Week~ and your post will be featured in our upcoming NEWSLETTER!
